Mobile digital radiography system Micro-X Rover Plus

Contact a Consultant

Micro-X Rover Plus is a mobile digital radiography system designed to perform examinations directly at the patient’s bedside: in patient rooms, intensive care units, emergency departments, operating rooms, isolation rooms, or in mobile/outreach settings.

The key distinguishing feature of the system is Carbon Nano Tube / Nano Electronic X-ray (CNT / NEX) technology. Instead of a conventional “hot” X-ray tube with a filament, it uses a cold cathode based on carbon nanotubes. This helps reduce thermal load, accelerate readiness for operation, and lower service-related risks throughout the device life cycle.

KEY ADVANTAGES

✔️ Less downtime in daily operation

CNT / NEX technology does not require traditional warm-up, reducing preparation time before an examination.

✔️ Lower radiation exposure

Rover provides diagnostic image quality at lower X-ray radiation output levels.

In a comparative clinical evaluation, Rover demonstrated an approximately 40–55% reduction in mAs compared with mobile X-ray systems GE AMX-IV and GE AMX Navigate under identical testing conditions.

✔️ Fewer service risks

In conventional mobile X-ray systems, the tube is one of the most expensive and highest-risk components. Rover Plus features a simplified architecture with a CNT source, fewer moving components, and the manufacturer’s stated Tube for Life concept.

✔️ Predictable long-term economics

Important costs include the tube, repairs, downtime, service, and replacement of components. Rover Plus should be evaluated as a solution focused on total cost of ownership.

✔️ Up to 7 hours of autonomous operation

Lithium iron phosphate batteries allow operation without connection to the mains for up to 7 hours.

✔️ Maneuverability in hospital environments

Compact design, low weight, and convenient positioning allow operation in narrow corridors, elevators, patient rooms, near beds with equipment, and in areas with limited space.
